Wonderful little canyon. Water was so refreshing during a heatwave. No wetsuit required. Took main social trail up and bypassed the scree. Nice group of 4 let us slide down their rope on Rap 1 and let us go ahead of them.

Anchors all in good shape. Two anchors available on last Rap if you want to bypass falls...but where's the fun in that?

Thunderstorm hit just as we exited around 2pm.

Flowing just right to get good and wet. We wore 4/3 wetsuits and were not cold. I wouldn't do it right now without wetsuits due to volume of water. Air temp was upper 70ies to low 80ies. I've done two different routes on the approach: the Road Trip Ryan approach, which requires bushwacking and class 3 scrambling, and the trail approach that goes further south and up and around the cliffs. The latter approach is longer, more defined trail, no scrambling, but overall more of an ascent.

Great flow. Anchors were in great shape.

Spectacular in the snow and ice. Route finding on the way up was very difficult. Used 27" (I think) snow shoes for the hike up and still sunk to waste deep snow in a couple of spots. Switched to microspikes in the canyon. On the raps, I could see the water flowing under the thick ice. Would like to go back in the summer for contrast (and to figure out a better route). Due to the snow, ice, and freezing temps, we stayed high and dry.

Class C conditions. LOTS of water running right now. Expect complete soakage and low visibility (i.e. difficulty seeing where to place your feet and such). All wet surfaces are extremely slippery. Water is not snowmelt-cold, it's on the refreshing side actually, but wetsuits recommended for those who run on the chilly side or if temperatures are not really hot outside. Lots of carnage from flash floods in the last year. The lower half of the canyon has changed considerable (more obstacles to downclimb/over. Delightful day!

Got a late start, first two anchors in good shape. 3rd anchor no where to be found. Built a new one on a small bush. I believe this is where the last one was too. 4th anchor high and dry. Good times, got out in the dark. Still flowing nicely!

Attempted to do this canyon on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. When we arrived & began the approach hike, it became evident that this canyon had flashed in the last 24-48 hours because of heavy rains in the area. The trail to the lower fall for hikers was obliterated in places & the streambed had been ripped out. We (2 of us) decided not to do the route because of concern that the canyon above would have been significantly altered from the posted beta and may contain dangerous places of new debris. Beta on this canyon may need to be re-written.

The water in Benson is flowing nicely and the anchors are in great shape. What more could you ask for on a hot summer day?

Led a group of five noobs including 2 tweens. 1.5 hour approach using the trail that parallels the highway till it gets to the ridge, then turns back towards Benson Creek. I've done the scree field and straight-up-the-mountain approaches too - slightly faster but more risky. Canyon was gorgeous. Delightful day!

Took us about 3 hours, good steep bush whack to get to Rap 1, all anchors are in good condition ,all rappels are frozen water falls right now so its super slick and cold. Quick and easy canyon

A great way to spend 3-4 hours. Here's my unsolicited tip to minimize the bushwhack- when you get to the picnic area, find the rock scree that leads up the gap to the top. Just head straight for it using the path of least resistance. We went further south and were picking burrs off our shorts the rest of the day. Water in canyon was flowing at roughly 1 cfs making the raps a little more adventurous. Anchors looked good. Enjoy!

Did the half, or technical sections only. Bit of a bushwack, because we couldn't find a trail that led there rather than all the way to the top.

Water was refreshing, only got splashed, not too cold.

Anchors are all in good shape.

Last rap is awkward only because of having to put your feet in slippery moss and other green stuff.

Fun little canyon. A mixture of natural anchors and bolts. Water is still flowing which is perfect for the heat right now
