Cherry Canyon

Great canyon for teaching rappeling, anchoring, rope retrieval, etc. Forgiving rappels, anchors and starts. Pretty narrows section; different than Utah sandstone canyons. Also a great winter canyon. All anchors and webbing are pretty bomber. Some of those cairn anchors probably have 400 pounds of rocks on them. Replacing webbing would suck, haha.
Virgin river was knee deep, easy crossing @ 210cfs. Approach is strenuous. Broke a sweat in low-60 degree temps and drank +2L of water. Canyon was dry, anchors were in great shape. A bit chilly in the canyon.
Definitely wouldn't want to do this in the summer or any hot weather.
Virgin river was knee deep. Anchors were all in tact. A bit chilly in the canyon. But t shirt weather during the approach. 7hrs full canyon group of 8.
Got a bit off track at first since it was our first time down this canyon so i would defiantly have a GPS. The virgin River was moving pretty fast but doable in the right spot. I am 6'3" and it was up to my waist in some spots.
The actual canyon anchors were in good condition I had to use my smooth operator on one rap. But all and all it was good dry canyon.
