Potholes were pretty full with water, the first two were linked into one swim. The second was a swimmer as well. Water after the first rappel was about chest deep on me (I'm 6'2"). There was a lot of quicksand, not sure if that's normal for this canyon or not. Webbing on anchors looked brand new for both rappels.

The usual 8.5 minute walk across slickrock from the road to the canyon drop-in. Gotta always like that.

The double pothole then the one just before the 1st rappel were all more than head deep swee-mers (as a friend from Poland would say).

1st rappel dropped into a waist on some armpit on others deep pool too.

Walked out Cottonwood Wash to the road. Recent -fresh cuttings- beaver activity in that canyon on trees to 7-8" in diameter. To me it is worth the walk out that way to always see Mr. & Mrs. Beave's latest wood working projects.

Anchors in good shape. Tippy top full of silty water. Recent flash flood cleared out the lower hike out. Lots of quicksand. Poison ivy avoidable thanks to the recent flood.

Lots of water in the potholes. We had been there 4 weeks earlier and the 1st significant pothole had calf-deep water. This time it was overhead. The pothole just above the rappel was a swimmer as usual.

4 weeks earlier there had been a small tree growing in sand above the pre-rappel pothole. That time we built a tension traverse between that and the 2 bolts (practice was good) to keep all but the 1st person dry.

A flash flood had scoured the canyon and the tree was no more. Below the 1st rappel there was scar and scour debris everywhere.

We found a steep ramp on canyon right to climb out before the 2nd rappel since the weather was about to set down on us. Lead climber then top rope for the rest.

Back to the car just as the sky cut lose. Good decision to short-cut out.

Water in pothole was over my head, climbing out made easy due to small ledges. Water was fairly clean. Webbing and bolts in good shape. Last rappel into a very pretty grotto. Walk out was nice. We stayed on the Courthouse Wash trail rather than climb up and out - kept us in the shade a bit longer and then the group rested at the parking area there while I hiked up the road the short mile to get the car at the trailhead.

Night time run. Waist deep water in pothole just before 1st rap, all anchors good.

Took a group of 9 through this in under 4 hours. The pothole before the 1st rap is a complete swimmer; can't touch the bottom. Good short canyon.

Low water levels. Last pothole before the first rappel is still a swim. The water levels are the lowest I've seen in the canyon.

Bolts on both rappels are in excellent candition :)

The beavers have dammed up the river down stream and route finding back to the road is different than in the past.

Met up with another group of people and leap-frogged using each others ropes.

This canyon is fun but a bit boring.
