Fall Creek
Last Candition: October 1, 2011
Nice amount of water! All anchors good! Last waterfall into Tujunga was fun, big pool at the bottom. Expect to get a little or alot wet if you go down the watercourse on rappel.
Paired this with Classic, both are a bushwhacking nightmare on entry and exit up Mill Creek.....
Fall Creek IS now open
Area is CLOSED due to the Station Fire. May reopen in 2 years. We were stopped by a ranger that mentioned fines and what not. Did not descend.
Quick and easy canyon in the Big Tujunga area. Easy to spot the falls on the hike in (about 45 min), but a little bushwhacking through the watercourse to reach the top (another 20 min). Once in you come to four successive waterfall rappels, all with solid anchors. No wetsuits necessary, but the water is unavoidable, and refreshing on a hot summer/fall day.
Only real drawback is all the moss that is impossible to keep off your rope! Best bet is to clean it in the river/creek on the hike out... slosh up-creek for a few hundred yards until you come to the road you hiked in on. Then it's a hot uphill slog back to the car.
