6 men down without wet suits (though it got a little cold while waiting at rap 3). Someone has placed webbing 40' above the first rap. Confused our first guy who mistook it as the first rap. He skipped it (easy down climb) to what he thought was rap 2 (really rap 1). In the confusion he missed rap 2 at the top of the falls and tried to link rap 1 and 2 together. Guess he was not the first because the area he came up short had someone's daisy chain attached to a small bush. Not a good place to set an anchor.

Perfect conditions, medium amount of water. The trail to the top is easy this year, a minor bushwack with almost no thorns (rare!).

We rebuilt the anchor at the large platform so that it hangs over the edge. The other anchors are good.

The vegetation on the way to the top is twice as dense as years past. Add 30 minutes to your expected approach time.

Car to Car with 4 people in 2 hrs and 50 minutes. Haven't done it for about 2 years but the 1st part of the trail to the last rap seems to be a bit more overgrown than past years. There is a trail that is becoming more defined near the top of the 1st rap. Should help noobs. Bolts are good condition. Replaced webbing at 3rd rappel (hanging). The 2nd rap has new anchors (probably for ice climbing). Didn't see any new ones besides though. Just 1 wore a wetsuit but then took it off after the 3rd rappel. Just sprinkles of water on ya. Flow is decent though.

Medium/High water conditions. Very fun for those with rappelling experience. Would be intimidating for beginners.

Consider bringing a crescent wrench to tighten some of the bolts.

The top of the Icicle is lush with vegetation right now. It's very scenic. All anchors are in good condition. If you go, bring a small crescent wrench. There is one bolt on the east side of the canyon that needs to be tightened (rap #3).

Did it with 4 people in 5 hours. We replaced and extended the webbing on the 4th rappel - definitely makes a difference in the rope pull. Cleaned up the 1st rap. Brought down over 60+ft of gutter from the mountains - trash! There are new bolts from the 2nd rappel on down the 4th rappel. It would be great if someone could test those bolts out (right, LDC) - since Shane's beta could be rewritten using that, since one would be in the watercourse the entire time!
