The good: Lots of water. Gorgeous waterfalls, flowers everywhere, beautiful blue slot, painted wall. The entire trip was scenic.

The bad: It felt like an endless steep approach that transitioned straight to an endless exit. You might miss the narrows section if you blink. The biting flies are swarming--I now look like I have chicken pox. The "more gentle" slickrock entrance was a bad idea. We ended up with multiple people at belay stations anyway and the rope pull was terrible. The big wall version would have been faster and easier. I'd only do the slickrock version if the whole group had 0 fear of heights and was comfortable walking down steep slickrock with giant vertical walls and cliffs all around, so no one needed to rappel.

I got through the cold slot swim without getting my upper body wet. Someone very committed to stemming might stay dry. No wetsuit.

What they said.

Except the narrow swimmer section is treacherously slick when wet - would not recommend the stemming.

Tree anchor above the big slide has an obstacle in the way - one that would be foolish to try and hop over on that sloped, sandy ledge. Made an anchor at the pinch of the two boulders; much safer.

Slickrock pass entrance. Trust...the anchors are there (triple point), and webbing in good shape. Replaced webbing in a couple of places.

Last rap around "lake" has a single bolt that should be carefully inspected.

All water is avoidable to knee height only with care (even the narrow "swimmer" section). No wetsuits needed.

Fun canyon but getting to it is a beast. Especially the last half mile to the north pass, steep, sandy and there is no trail. Its similar to the mia trail only shorter. All the webbing and bolts were in good condition hot and sunny coming down the NP but once in the canyon and water it was ice cold.

A couple cold swims. No need for a wetsuit. All bolts on the north pass look good and webbing is ok, some might need replacement this season.
