Lost Spring
Last Candition: April 7, 2013
North Fork of Lost Spring Canyon - 2 hours car to car with two people. Good webbing at each anchor. Totally dry.
Bone dry. Group of 5 was able to cruise through in just over 2 hours round trip. Single pronged bolt on the second rap still is there and solid but, sketchy to look at.
Great, short canyon. 4WD road is a real 4WD high clearance road. Pothole anchor is dry and in good shape. Ankle wading in a few places. The Roost had rain for three of our four days out there. This was the farthest north and west of our four canyons and the driest.
Easy to avoid water. Anchors are well set up. An intermediate-to-expert canyoneer could downclimb this entire canyon.
Great conditions for a sweet little canyon. DC'ed the final "rappel" and removed yucky cord anchor that existed. Be prepared to make an anchor if you do not also want to DC that drop.
