Moonshine Wash

The first dryfall in West was about bellybutton deep. The dryfall upclimb is not too difficult for the experienced, but would be difficult/dangerous for the inexperienced. There was a pothole after that was also about waist deep and required a partner assist (lots of mud on the exit). The surprise was that, after the pothole, there was an obstacle that was difficult. It was a chockstone that required a climb up to it and over it. A great climber may be able to get it. We stuck a pot shot and then partner assisted up. I had a group of seven 12-17 year old boys with me (some very inexperienced), so we had to get creative to get everyone up. We ended up creating a deadman and then put both a fixed and top belay rope down. Fun canyon. The hike out (2.5 miles?) wasn't bad for the experienced, but long for the inexperienced.
Not a drop of water with the lack of recent moisture. Road in good shape from Green River. Very washboarded near horseshoe jct. 2.5 hrs to bridge and back with a 6 and 3 year old. They loved it.
Dry until the junction with the West fork. Waist deep pool at base of dryfall, which was merely damp. We weren't up for wading so went back up canyon in the main branch to the first climb out and then traversed back south, visiting the sheep bridge from above on the way. Good day had by all.
