6 hours car to car with group of 5. Some unavoidable water, nearly waist-deep in East fork. West fork upclimb is fantastic but quite physical. It's quite narrow in places and leveraging yourself up and over rocks is challenging. It was a literally breath-taking, skin-scraping experience that made this canyon unlike many others if you are not used to much upclimbing.

Did loop from Spencer Flat Rd...down East fork up west fork. East fork has webbing for a second short 10-15 foot rap over some choke stones. Rope grooves are getting quite large due to rope pulls. Last rap is into ankle deep water on left side LDC. Lots of pools in the skinny sections, some waist deep, but all can be stemmed over by anyone taller than 65 inches. Climbed to the west fork too soon and had to endure a 4th class sketchy scramble. Should have climbed to rim further down canyon. Very similar canyon to Egypt 3, but I thought Egypt 3 was prettier. Took a solid 9 hours with 2 adults and 2 kids, but we are slow.

Dry, ideal candition. East Fork down, West Fork up. Some changes, few new rockfalls, lot of fun

7:15 car to car for 2 people. GPS very useful as sandy trails difficult to follow at times. Descended east fork. Fantastic, long narrows, but never really had to go sideways. Brief, low stemming over chockstones, etc. Water in the pool at the one rap is mid-thigh. Newly anchored. After that rap, it's mostly a sandy canyon slog to west fork. That fork also has impressive & colorful narrows. One difficult upclimb early on right side of large chockstone. Next major difficulty was upclimb in the most narrow section and then to exit the narrows, a 12 foot, partner assist climb. Outstanding, basically non-technical narrows make the cross desert hike worth the effort.

From the drill hole trailhead, we descended the upper west fork and returned up the big west fork in 7 1/2 hours. There is an anchor for the end drop into a thigh deep pool in the upper west fork that required a 60 ft rope. This was the only water we encountered. In the big west fork we counted 20 up climbs, most of them easy, with 4 challenging. Good lengthy, tight slots in both forks.
